AgileX's PiPER is a lightweight robotic arm with six degrees of
freedom for research, teaching, and rapid prototyping.
With a dead weight of only 4.2 kg, the arm can be mounted on a table,
a demonstration setup or directly on a mobile platform. It carries up
to 1.5 kg, reaches a reach of 626 mm and operates with a repeatability
of 0.1 mm. Integrated articulated drives ensure smooth movements.
It is controlled via Python API, ROS 1 or ROS 2. The CAN interface
makes it easy to connect to a higher-level computer, image processing
system, or gripper. The temperature range of -20 to 50 degrees Celsius
specified by the manufacturer allows tests to be carried out even
outside of classic laboratory conditions.
Typical applications:
- Research and teaching at universities and educational
institutions
- Rapid prototyping of handling tasks
- Pick-and-place tests with image processing
- Mobile manipulation in combination with a mobile platform (e.g.
SCOUT or BUNKER)
