The Clampbooster is an innovative end-of-arm tool (EOAT) designed to automatically control manual vises in robotic applications, increasing the level of automation in CNC manufacturing processes.

Functionality & Purpose

The Clampbooster extends a robot cell with the ability to autonomously perform clamping and loosening operations in a manual vise without the need for the vise itself to be pneumatically or hydraulically equipped. It serves as a mechanical "intermediate motor" between the robot and the vice: the robot positions the component, the tool closes (chips) the vise with a predetermined torque, and after machining it opens the vice again. Due to the integration into the robot arm (between the ISO flange and gripper in cobots or on the tool flange in industrial robots), no serious conversion of the existing machine is necessary. Two dowel pins ensure that possible torsional forces are eliminated and that the robot arm remains mechanically relieved.
