DEFUM WHB 150 horizontal boring machine was built in 1984 in Poland by
the Dąbrowska Fabryka Obrabiarek DEFUM. The machine is designed for
precision machining of heavy workpieces of complex geometry, which are
used in a wide range of industries. Thanks to its design and wide
machining capabilities, it is ideal for, among others, the machinery,
automotive, shipbuilding industries and wherever high accuracy is
required.
The DEFUM WHB 150 enables a number of complex machining operations to
be performed, such as boring, hole drilling and milling. Machining is
performed by a spindle with a diameter of 150 mm that ensures maximum
accuracy even under heavy loads. The workhead moves in four axes with
feeds of 7000 mm (X axis), 3000 mm (Y axis), 1200 (Z axis) and 500 mm
(W axis). The installed SONY digital readout, distinguished by its
high measurement accuracy, continuously monitors the position of the
head in all linear axes. All this is complemented by a robust design
that guarantees high stability during even the most demanding
challenges. The WHB 150 boring machine weighs 62 tonnes.
