Krones Varioline 2M is a modular, fully automatic secondary packaging machine designed for grouping and packing glass bottles into printed paperboard multipacks. Machine was built in year 2017 and it has been in operation only approx. 8000 hours. This machine is configured for producing open-top, basket-style bottle carriers incorporating an integrated carrying handle and internal bottle-separating partitions.
The carton forming section consists of two integrated processing modules and three servo-controlled portal handling robots Module 1 – Robot 1, Module 2 – Robot 1, and Module 2 – Robot 2.Flat paperboard blanks are introduced into the machine, erected and formed into basket carriers. Glass bottles are supplied through the integrated product infeed, grouped into the required formation and transferred into the prepared cartons using robotic gripper systems. The completed multipacks are then discharged to downstream conveying or palletising equipment.
The Krones Varioline platform is designed for flexible processing of secondary and tertiary packaging formats. Its modular construction permits the integration of multipack handling, carton forming, product loading and package-completion functions within one coordinated machine system.
Designed for high production efficiency and rapid format changeovers, the system enables manufacturers to respond quickly to changing market demands while minimizing downtime.
