SAFTherm STDR-960-12A tempering furnace was built in 2024 in China by
Henan Sante Furnance Technology Co., Ltd. The machine is designed for
tempering steel at a maximum temperature of 850°C. Tempering of steel
is one of the heat treatment processes designed to reduce the internal
stresses created by hardening and improve the mechanical properties of
the material. The process involves heating the steel to a specific
temperature below the eutectoid transformation temperature,
maintaining this temperature for a defined period of time and then
cooling it down in a controlled manner. This gives the steel greater
fracture toughness and improved resilience.
The SAFTherm STDR-960-12A is a low-vacuum furnace designed for
operation in a controlled atmosphere. Its large work chamber with
dimensions of 800 x 1200 x 1000 mm enables the treatment of single
workpieces as well as larger series. The thermal insulation used
limits heat loss and helps maintain a stable temperature throughout
the process. All this is complemented by the SHIMADEN SRS10 controller
with an intuitive interface, which enables precise temperature control
and rapid programming of process parameters. The SAFTherm STDR
tempering furnace weighs 1100 kg.
