SAFTherm STT-960-12A quenching furnace was built in 2024 in China by
Henan Sante Furnance Technology Co., Ltd. The machine is designed to
harden metal parts at a maximum temperature of 1200°C. Hardening is a
heat treatment process for steel, the purpose of which is to
significantly increase the strength, hardness and wear resistance of
the material. During this process, the steel is heated to a specific
temperature maintained for a defined time and then rapidly cooled.
This causes changes in the material’s internal structure that
translate into improved mechanical properties. This makes the
hardening process widely used in the manufacture of tools, machine
parts and structural elements used in many industries.
The SAFTherm STT-960-12A is a low-vacuum furnace designed for
operation in a controlled atmosphere. Its large work chamber with
dimensions of 800 x 1200 x 1000 mm enables the treatment of single
workpieces as well as larger series. High-quality thermal insulation
limits heat loss and helps maintain a stable temperature throughout
the process. All this is complemented by the intuitive SHIMADEN SRS10
controller responsible for precise temperature control and programming
of the quenching process parameters. The SAFTherm STT hardening
furnace weighs 1100 kg.
