SPIRO BETA 3 elbow machine was built in 2018 in Switzerland by SPIRO
International S.A. The machine is designed for the production of
segmented elbows, duct reducers, duct end caps and other round-section
fittings. It enables the forming of flanges, as well as the creation
of lock seam along the edges of the segments and their permanent
closing. This makes the SPIRO BETA 3 an excellent choice for
manufacturing plants specialising in the production of components for
the ventilation and air-conditioning industry.
The process begins with the preparation of properly cut sheet metal
segments. The machine precisely forms their edges, giving them the
appropriate profile to enable subsequent connection. The formed edge
is then closed by a set of rollers, creating a permanent lock seam.
The circumference speed of the rollers can be adjusted within a range
from 0 to 40 m/min, allowing the operating parameters to be adapted to
the type of machined material. The use of a lock seam increases the
rigidity of the finished fitting and ensures a durable connection,
while reducing the need for additional joining methods, such as
welding. The BETA 3 elbow making machine therefore enables efficient,
repeatable production of high-quality ventilation fittings. The total
weight of the machine is 572 kg.
